Ingoldmells Sewage Treatment Works

On the Lincolnshire coast situated near the town of Skegness is the Ingoldmells Sewage Treatment Works. The site is controlled and monitored by four MCC's. The L.V. Switchboard, the Primary Treatment, the Secondary Treatment and the Sludge Thickening Plant. Each Panel , with the exception of the L.V. Switchboard, has it's own PLC. These communicate via a DH+ Network that also contains the two Panel View 550's, on MCC No.2 & 3 and the door mounted Panel View 1400 on MCC No.4. The Panel View 1400 acts as a SCADA for the system.

L.V. Switchboard MCC No.1.
The power to MCC No.2,3,4 and various feeders is supplied via a Mains Generator changeover system situated in the L.V. Switchboard.

Primary Treatment MCC No.2.
This MCC controls the Inlet flow, the Primary Settlement Tanks and the transfer of sludge to the Aeration Tank and the Sludge Storage Tank.

Secondary Treatment MCC No.3.
The Secondary Treatment MCC controls the Aeration and Sludge Storage Tanks and the subsequent Aeration Blowers, Scrapers and SAS/RAS Pumps.

Sludge Thickening Plant MCC No.4.
MCC No.4 controls the Sludge Thickening process and discharge of sludge cake via conveyors to either of the two transport vessels.
